Adi Kailash — The Chhota Kailash Known as ‘Chhota Kailash’, it is revered as the earthly abode of Lord Shiva. Located in the Kumaon Himalayas in Pithoragarh district, Uttarakhand, near the India–Tibet border. Altitude: ~6,191 meters (20,312 ft). It resembles Mount Kailash in Tibet, hence the name Adi Kailash (‘Original Kailash’). Near Adi Kailash lies the sacred Parvati Sarovar — a serene lake where devotees take a holy dip. Gauri Kund and temples of Shiva and Parvati add to the spiritual aura.

The journey involves jeep rides & moderate treks through lush valleys, rivers (Kali River), and remote Himalayan villages.
- Duration & Best Time Typical duration: 8–12 days round trip from Delhi or Kathgodam. Best time: May–June & September–October (clear skies, moderate cold, scenic beauty).
- Spiritual Significance Adi Kailash is mentioned in ancient texts as one of Lord Shiva’s oldest abodes. Om Parvat is believed to be naturally blessed with the ‘ॐ’ symbol — no human intervention. Pilgrims perform parikrama (circumambulation) around Adi Kailash and meditate at Parvati Kund.
