The climb begins with a flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, followed by a trek to Namche Bazaar, Tengboche, Dingboche, and Chukung. From there, climbers trek to Island Peak base camp and then ascend to high camp. The climb to the summit typically takes around 8-10 hours, depending on weather and snow conditions.
The ascent to the summit usually involves a steep snow and ice climb, which requires a good level of physical fitness, stamina, and mental strength. The weather and snow conditions can also be unpredictable and challenging, adding to the difficulty of the climb.

Itinerary

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by a representative of your trekking agency and transferred to your hotel. You can rest and explore the city on your own for the rest of the day.
You'll spend this day exploring the historic and cultural landmarks of Kathmandu. You'll visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Pashupatinath Temple, Swayambhunath Stupa, and Boudhanath Stupa. In the afternoon, you'll have a pre-trip meeting with your guide and other climbers, where you'll get to know each other and discuss the trip's details.
Early in the morning, you'll take a scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. After landing in Lukla, you'll start your trek to Phakding, following the Dudh Kosi river and passing through several Sherpa villages. You'll spend the night in Phakding.
Today, you'll continue along the Dudh Koshi river and cross several suspension bridges. You'll climb a steep hill and reach Namche Bazaar, the largest town in the Khumbu region. Here, you'll have your first glimpse of Mount Everest and other peaks. You'll spend the night in Namche Bazaar.
To avoid altitude sickness, you'll take a rest day in Namche Bazaar. You can explore the town, visit the Sherpa Culture Museum, or hike to the Everest View Hotel for a panoramic view of the Himalayas.
You'll trek through rhododendron forests and cross a suspension bridge over the Imja Khola river. You'll reach Tengboche, home to the largest monastery in the Khumbu region. You'll spend the night in Tengboche.
Today, you'll pass through Pangboche, a traditional Sherpa village, and climb up to Dingboche. You'll have spectacular views of Ama Dablam and other peaks along the way. You'll spend the night in Dingboche.
Another rest day in Dingboche to help your body acclimatize to the altitude. You can hike up to Nagarjun Hill or Chukkhung Valley for stunning views of the Himalayas.
You'll trek along the Khumbu glacier and reach Island Peak Base Camp, where you'll set up your tents and prepare for the climb. Your guide will provide you with a training session and briefing on the climbing techniques.
Today, you'll trek to Island Peak High Camp, a steep climb that takes around 4-5 hours. You'll have lunch at the camp and spend the afternoon resting and preparing for the summit push.
Today is the big day! You'll wake up early in the morning and start climbing towards the summit of Island Peak. The climb starts with a steep climb on a rocky trail, which will lead you to a glacier. You'll then traverse the glacier and climb a steep snow and ice wall to reach the summit. From the top, you'll have breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks, including Lhotse, Makalu, and Ama Dablam. After spending some time at the summit, you'll descend back to High Camp and continue back to Base Camp for the night.
In case of bad weather or any unforeseen circumstances, an extra day is kept as a reserve day to attempt the summit.
After the successful summit of Island Peak, you'll retrace your steps back down to Pangboche. You'll pass through Dingboche and trek along the Imja Khola river. You'll spend the night in Pangboche.
You'll continue descending towards Namche Bazaar, passing through Tengboche and the rhododendron forests. You'll have a chance to rest and explores the town before spending the night there.
On the final day of your trek, you'll descend down to Lukla. You'll pass through Phakding and several suspension bridges. In the evening, you'll celebrate your successful climb with your guide and fellow climbers.
You'll take an early morning flights back to Kathmandu, where you can rest and explore the city on your own.
Your Island Peak climbing trip comes to an end today. You'll be transferred to the airport for your departure flight back home or to your next destination.

- *The cost of the Kathmandu-Lukla-Kathmandu flight, including taxes and government fees, is included in the package. *The trek/climb includes Lunches, Dinners, and Breakfasts. *The package covers a total of 13 nights, including five nights of twin-sharing rooms with attached bathrooms in Lukla, Namche (3N), and Phakding, seven nights of twin-sharing accommodations in Tengboche, Dingboche (2N), and Chhukung (4N), and one night of twin-sharing tent/camp accommodation at the Island Peak Base Camp. *The package includes a government-licensed trekking/climbing leader and porters to assist trekkers with their luggage, with one porter assigned to every two trekkers and a maximum load of 20-kg per porter. *The package also includes a cook and helpers for the Island Base Camp stay, Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit, Khumbu Rural Municipality Permit, Island Peak Climbing Permit fees, experienced and licensed Sherpa Climbing Guide fee, tent and camping staff with the kitchen crew, medical kit, snacks (cookies), and seasonal fresh fruits every day. *In case of complicated health conditions, the rescue operation arrangement will be funded by the package.

- *Other personal expenses to consider include shopping, snacks, beverages, hot showers, Wi-Fi, phone calls, battery recharging fees, additional porters, and alcohol.
- *It's also important to purchase travel insurance that covers emergency high-altitude evacuation, as this is mandatory.
- *Don't forget to budget for tips for your guide and porters if you wish, as well as any costs that may arise due to itinerary changes related to safety concerns, illness, government policies, political instability, or strikes.
